Summary: One of the greats

Jaw dropping. Stunning. This is a movie which inspires the use of superlatives.

The bottom line is non-stop highest quality fu fighting. And the balance of serious and comic fu is very well made. I missed quite a few great moves because I was laughing so hard, and had to watch the film again.

The action design is dazzling. It's hard to take in just how much they managed to pack into less than 90 minutes. Ten odd martial arts experts in near perfect coordination is a pleasure to behold.

The silly story of goodies versus baddies is of course just an excuse to get everyone thumping the daylights out of everyone else.

If you love action and kung fu, this is one film you must see. Any effort to view this film will be worth it.

Summary: Good

The Dragon & The Tiger Kids, I suppose is more known as one of Hwang Jang Lee's best films, Kung Fu wise anyway. However, it would seem I'm the first to review it.

It's the same old story really, 2 Kung Fu schools have rival members who drive the whole of each school against each other to countless fights and incounters, but, it's a lot more enjoyable than your average. The other half of the story is the also common plot of a poor kid who doesn't know Kung Fu and is eager to learn. Nothing original, but like I said, enjoyable.

Now don't go thinking Hwang Jang Lee has much to do in this film, because his appearance is limited, but his fight scenes are probably the best I have seen him perform, and I think I've probably seen all his films before. However, it's not just those impressive fight scenes, the comedy (some of which is stupid) side of the story is quite well balanced it would seem as Mang Hoi takes charge, and with the presence of Meng Yuen Man this film stays enjoyable from the beginning to the end.

Certainly not just your average Kung Fu film. I would probably have this in my top 20 Kung Fu movies, as there are plenty better, but certainly far better than the average 70's trashy Kung Fu!

Recommended.
