Now You See Me Now You Don't

A very pleasant, light-hearted costume fluff. There are no big laughs here, but a lot of chuckles, and the surprising realisation that Anthony Wong comes off well even in fancy dress. The story is anything but original; in fact, it harks back centuries even in European literature (see Shakespeare), but it's so engagingly staged and performed one doesn't mind. Like most Mandarin productions, the films looks good and has a big-budget feel to it. Just don't expect comedic flights of fancy, and you'll enjoy it.

Fairly interesting (if unoriginal) premise for light entertainment - a despised general puts on a disguise and walks the streets each night as "Plum", a popular rabble-rouser. The comedy is often quite black, which seems to suit Anthony Wong, but it works only sporadically.
