Biography |

| After his graduation from the Beijing Academy, he worked as production designer in "A Woman From North Shaanxi" by Yang Feng Liang and "Life on a String" (both from 1991), which was his first collaboration with reputed director Chen Kaige. With "Red Firecracker, Green Firecracker" by He Ping, Huo was awarded with the Golden Rooster in 1993. Again with Chen, Huo was awarded with the Technical Grand Prize of the Cannes Film Festival by "The Emperor and the Assassin" in 1998, and soon he began to work in international movies. "Hero" (2002) was his first collaboration with Zhang Yi Mou. |
