Huang was born on the 27th of May. A native Hubei, Huang was a distinguished character actor who originated from the stage. He later focused his attention on film, when he joined Taiwan's Agricultural Education ("Nong Jiao") Film Company and starred in various movies. His directorial debut was Gentleman's Promise in 1960. Huang joined Shaw Brothers in 1963, with Lover's Rock as his acting debut. His other famous works included The Magnificent Swordsman, The Silver Fox and Dragon Swamp. He was married once to renowned Taiwanese actress Chiao Chiao in 1963, but they seperated a few years later. Huang passed away on October 28th, 1976.
