Biography

	Born in what is now North Korea. Kidnapped in 1978 by Kim Jong Il along with his wife Choi Eun Hee to revive North Korea's film industry. Attempted to escape in 1983 but was not freed until 1986 when he obtained asylum in Vienna while attending the Berlin Film Festival. Most famous film is Pulgasari. Director of the South Korean film War And Human Being [1971], which was edited into Hero Commandos [1985]. Director of the South Korean film The Last Flight To Pyongyang [1971], which was edited into Sky Crusaders [1985]. Director of the South Korean film A Boy At His Age Of 13 [1974], footage of which is used in the cut & paste movie Ninja Project Daredevils [1986]. Director of the South Korean film Girls In The Tiger Cage [1976], footage of which is used in the cut & paste movie Ninja: The Shadow Killer [1989].
