Are you sure it was Taiwan? Several people made an appearance (Tsang Choh Lam, Chiang Kam) whom I wouldn't normally expect to see in a Taiwanese production.

Philip Ko and Sharon Yeung are usually stars from Taiwan. HKFA says this movie is Taiwanese.

Cliff Lok and Chan Siu-Pang did work in Taiwan in the 70's, but I think they were back in HK by 1979... so, still not quite convinced, but not sure either way
