Brigitte Lin's conversion to Christianity

How wonderful to see she chose Franklin Graham as her spiritual tour guide, the guy who's comments up here in Canada about Islam being a "very evil and wicked religion" didn't seem to phase the faithful in the least. Looks like they got her while she was down, too. There's a shock. :(

New Face Seen Again in Most-Watched News Program

A new face on the anchor desk of a 30-minute China Central Television nightly news program "Xinwen Lianbo" aroused audience attention on Thursday.

Hai Xia, a 30-something anchorwoman, partnered with CCTV's veteran anchorman Luo Jing for the December 6 show. This is the second time the show has introduced another young broadcaster in recent years. And again, audiences responded with positive feedback.

The primetime program was launched in 1978, and now reaches 160 million viewers nationwide. Three pairs of anchors alternate hosting the program, but Xing Zhibin, a 60-year-old anchorwoman, and Luo Jing, in his 40's, dominate the anchor desk.

It is not yet clear if Hai Xia is now formally on the desk. A reporter from the Beijing-based Morning Post contacted Liang Xiaotao, director of the CCTV news center, who declined to comment.

Not exactly the hype surrounding Katie Couric's move to reading the news at night. :P

For reference, I think Katie Couric draws 6 million viewers.

I see he is the son of Billy Graham.

A Wiki quote:
"I've been called to the slums of the streets and the ditches of the world." (Hong Kong Franklin Graham Festival)

...Uh, are you referring to Hong Kong?

Probably!

I seem to recall Graham getting flak for some incongruous comments about Jews back in the 70's, so I suppose the apples didn't fall too far from the tree. I do wish all these guys would get struck by lightning, then I might have a stronger faith!
