Correct. Producer 'Ng' common in Canto parlance = 'Goh, Gouw' for those w/Min Nan roots (Hokkien, Quanchew, Amoy, Teochew, etc.). This is the way you would find many from these parts identifying/coining their names for later generation Chinese abroad & closer to home ethnic-southeast Asia: Taiwan, Hainan, Philipines, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. (I was told the dialect in-part has ancestral roots from ancient Tibet).
Gouw's regional kinsmen in HK film (that I know of): Ivy Ling Po, Jackie Chan, Sylvia Chang, Chow Yun Fat & the Shaw family.
