The CGI format seems to be the new genre in HK film right now. But as you stated if it is done at the expense of good acting and compelling storylines, then I think it will be a genre that will run its course very quickly.<br><br>

I'm not a big fan of special effects. I think Legend of Zu was a disaster. I don't know if Tsui Hark really thought bombarding the audience with special effects was enough, or if he had something else in mind when he made the movie -- I don't know, the guy is a genius, maybe he intended something else, but all I saw was special effects, and that is a very bad thing.<br><br>However, I disagree that Storm Riders needed more physical interaction. It is one of the only movies that I think is perfect the way it is. Since it was adapted from a comic book, the special effects gave us exactly the comic book feel. More physical contact would have made it more of a martial arts movie, which would have been less interesting because we've had so many of those in the early 90s. Personally, I love supernatural forces, so all the supernatural powers that the characters had was a big turn on for me.<br><br>
