Well those are 2 of my favs. I'm a big Stephen fan so I like all of his films pretty much, but I would strongly recommend...
A Chinese Odyssey
King Of Beggars
Fight Back to School

If you have seen Chow Yun Fat's God Of Gamblers. Stephen made a great spoof of it called All For The Winner. He also had a good Dramatic role in To Be No.1.

Royal Tramp I and II are some of his funniest, particularly part II. It's even better if you understand Chinese. The subtitles never do any justice.

I can't believe no one recommend King Of Comedy, omg that by far one of the best, funniest Stephen Chow film.

funny Stephen Chow movies

Postby cpardo » Mon Jul 12, 2004 11:55 pm

The one-two punch of From Beijing with Love and Forbidden City Cop makes for some laugh out loud moments.

I also thought God of Cookery was very funny.

I can reach way back and say All for the Winner, one of his first comedies is probably the funniest.

But then there's Tricky Brains too....

Is Fight Back to School considered an action comedy or just plain comedy?

Fight Back to School is just plain comedy, it have some action in the beginning and ending but not something you would expect to be good.

Oh, yeah I almost forgot about Out of the Dark. I liked that one because it so weird, but in a funny way. Chinese Odyssey too.

My personal favourites are From Beijing With Love and King Of Comedy but also Justice My Foot which is strangely missing from previous recommendations.

One I've never gotten around to is Lung Fung Restaurant.
What do people think about this one, skip or still worth a peek?

Lung Fung Restaurant is not that good, though Stephen Chow and Ng Man Tat steal all the scene in the movie. They are not the main character, the 2 lead actor/actress acting was terrible. I say if you seen all the Stephen Chow film, watch this one.
