MOVIE TITLES

Postby wwp8 » Thu Feb 24, 2005 2:08 pm

heres a challenging one there are 2 films that i say when i was a kid, i enjoyed and don't know the names of the title.

movie
1 (actors not known but are 2 main ones)

1 is a judo expert and the other is a triad gang member some reason, the triad lad is on the run, and he bumps into the judo guy, just leaving his place winning a trophy,

they eventually got handcuffed together and both are on the run, (they hated each other at that time) i remember the triad lad wore leather and shades. (he had his trademark of holding his hand with thumb, first and little finger up and waving it)the judo lad was a smart dressing guy

there is a scene when they got caught in the sewers by a copper(?)
and the copper lit a fag up, the 2 guys smelt gas and ducked in the water whilst the copper got burnt.

at the end, a large triad gang caught up with them and killed the triad lad, even though the judo lad tried to help him he still died,
the judo lad survived at the very last shot he wore same clothes as the triad lad, and does his trademark hand sign

2nd film.
based in the 60s??

there were a large amount of people in it , (even though i don't remember them ) one guy remind me of mak gar (bald guy) but not him
I do remember there was a MAX mok in it, and the girl , (don't remember her name but was pretty, short, had a croaky voice don't do many films now)
the girl was a prostitute and she kept it a secret from him,
the bald paid the prostitute a visit, and when met her with max and the others at dinner he told him ,
he got angry and said she lied,
she answered she never lied she just never mentioned it, even though the bald guy was gonna be the last person (she was gonna quit)
she went back to the brothel,.
max still loves her pretended to be drunk, and asked his friends to get her back, i remember a scene when the guys picked (a pretend drunk )max up at the brothel to leave, they was gonna leave but max was holding on the door, winking at the guys to wait .

thats all i remember , but this film was a quite sad film, if i remember the girl died

it was a triad film ???

PEDICAB is one of the most famous missing titles of the Hong Kong digital age! I can't even remember a VCD release. Fairly certain there's still no DVD of it. Let us know if you find someone selling a good version!

Looks like it. Hong Kong Legends, however, despite their hearts being in the right place, often do shitty jobs with HK movies, and repeat supplements from one disc to the next. Then again, in this case, there might never be another option!

That's a bootleg at kungfumovies.net - Hong Kong Legends have never released Pedicab Driver - and actually that logo is "HK Video (Taiwan)", a bootlegging outfit.

I, err, happen to know that that dvd is a laserdisc transfer of the film. Not too hot, but the best that's available right now.

so i watched the dvd,
quality is dissapointing, as it seems like it was straight from vhs to dvd,
edited in an odd way ie bits cut off, "sammo asks a question , the other person would open mouth to reply, then it would jump to next scene.

what i'm surprised is, i first watched these when it came out, only once,
and i still remember most of the scenes. and even though i know x an x dies, i still feel sad about them
still the girl is an attractive one though :D
