Do you think Yuen Siu-Tien was better than Fan - Mai Sheng when it came to playing Wong Fei - Hung's beggar sifu?
(Yuen appeared in Snake in Eagle's Shadow +Drunken Master, Fan appeared in Magnificent Butcher)

My vote: Yuen Hsiao Tien.

He had more "charisma".

I think so to, Yuen Hsiao Tien was a funny old original guy and he is made for old bum,beggar and kungfu-teacher-roles. No one can do it better than him when it comes to that

I agree that Yuen was good as the Beggar Su, martial arts and acting - wise,but Fan Moi San was funny in Magnificient Butcher!!!

It's a shame that Yuen died just as he was coming back into the limelight, wonder what Magnificient Butcher would have been like if he had been able to complete his role in it?

I think it would have been better (since Im more of a Yuen-fan than a Fan-fan) but Fan is a great actor as well and do a great job in Magnificent Butcher, but I dont concider it as his best role though. I think he is better in funny "bad guy"-roles actually.
