literally just finished watching it and i believe its one of the best horror movies i have watched for a VERY long time.

i also love the conclusion of his neckache.

In case anyone's thinking of ordering the Thai Special Edition of this movie, beware it isn't subtitled, despite claims to the contrary at ethaicd.com, where I bought mine. Won't watch it until I get a subbed version, but I did put the disc in to check for subs and chaptered ahead a couple times. One of the chapters is literally microseconds before a big scare, and as I was doing this at 2 a.m. and forgot I had the volume up high from a previous movie, the shock scared the living hell out of me. Can't wait to see it properly. Considering how many Thai horror movies are absolute junk that would make Troublesome Night 26 look like a hair-raising thrill ride, it's a relief to see serious stuff like this starting to issue forth from the country. Another one to keep an eye out for is RAHTREE: FLOWER OF THE NIGHT, about this hard-luck girl who haunts the apartment building where she was left to die by her playboy boyfriend. It'll definitely make ya jump...

I think it was a good movie too. I loved it ! I agree the end was great. This whole movie had me in an uncomfortable state. I love being creeped out.

Just wanted to say I FINALLY got around to watching this on the weekend.

It's an efficient little scare movie, despite the concept being rooted in a longstanding hoax, and, as others have already attested to here, it's blessed with a clever ending. I must admit, they got me. I found myself bracing for some kind of SIXTH SENSE knockoff, especially when Tun (Ananda Everingham) kept complaining about his neck. Nice performances all around, with an even dispensation of the spook sequences throughout. I particularly liked how the ghost's hair showed up in the graduation photos as one of the more subtly vague clues as to what was going on, but the filmmakers wisely opted never to spell it out for the audience.

Both the Thai and Hong Kong DVDs contain several alternate edits of key creepout scenes (including the ceiling walk), which makes for an object lesson in the mechanics of the scare.

Hi I'm new in this forum and love horror movies and a good scare. What is the name of the one you are referring too?
Also, I have been searching for a friend of mine an old movie done circa 1978, 79 (not horror). At first he said it was "18 Jade Lohans" starring a group who called themselves the 3 Holy Fools, but now he is not so sure. I just wondered if you or someone out there had heard of it.

The movie referred to in this thread is called SHUTTER, an effective Thai horror movie from 2004. Odd that we've discussed it here without ever mentioning the name of it outside of the thread title. Thai horror runs the gamut, but this is one that works very well.

As to the other movie you refer to, the only thing that comes to mind is THE EIGHTEEN JADE ARHATS. However, I haven't seen it, so I only mention it because it seems to have a similar title.
