Postby mikehende » Fri Aug 26, 2005 1:40 am

Hello, I am trying to purchase a film on either VHS or DVD titled "Blind Boxer" [1972]. My favorite and close uncle used to take me to see Kung Fu movies when I was a child and this was the last movie we saw together, he passed away a few years ago and this is the main reason why I started looking for this film. Was only able to find it on VCD, Blind Boxer, and only place I could find it was BlueLaser, which is rather expensive.

Hi Ryan, yes it is rather expensive but for the memory of my uncle, I will gladly purchase it, thank you very much! All the best, Mike.

Looks like we jumped the gun Ryan, just received a reply from the vendor, this does NOT look like the film as it does not list the main star [Jason Pai Piao] and there aren't any subtitles, here is the vedor's reply to my question asking for both a list of the star's names and if it has English subtitles
"Bai Bill, Lu Chun, Wu Yan Yan. cantonese/Mandarin, no sub."

So my search goes on but thank you very much for helping.

Sorry to hear that, even though you shouldn't completely dismiss the possibility that it still can be the movie your after, Lu Chun is an alias for Tony Liu Jun Guk, the two other names provided by BlueLaser doesn't turn up any hits in the DB so they might also be aliases for someone, maybe someone can identify the actors on the cover above despite the poor quality of it.
And by the way, I'm not Ryan ;)

If it was said with a certain inflection, the name "Bai Bill" could easily sound like "Pai Piao." Makes you wonder...

I just found out that this is indeed the same film and was told that Bai Bill and Jason Pai Piao is the one and the same person, just that one is pronounced in "cantonese" and the other in "mandarin" langauge. Great news too Bearserk, I have found one WITH English subtitles.
