Anyone know the name of these movies?

Postby senordingdong » Wed May 16, 2001 8:40 pm

The first one is about a guy who died (I forget how) and becomes a ghost. As a ghost, he follows his friends around and hope that they'll see him some how. His friends burn stuff for him to use in the afterlife and he get's a cell phone. He tries calling them on it, but all they hear is static.

This next one is a bit weird. All I can remeber about it is that it took place in ancient China. There was a guy who got his penis chopped off and he carried it around in a jar. The character was a bit mentally retarded.

This last one involves a genie who came out of a toilet. The guy who found the genie wished for a large penis and the genie gave him a comically large one. It went down his pant leg, and he walked funny because of it. He told a girl he was walking like that because he had a cramp in his leg and so started rubbing his leg.

I know, these movies sound really really weird, but does anybody know the title of any of these movies?

The 3d one MIGHT be Ghostly Vixen, with Amy Yip as Evil Girl. At least, there's a guy in that who gets cursed with a magic penis spell, and it grows so long he has to tape it to his leg.

batgirl

Sorry, the last one is not Ghostly Vixen.

I can sort of see the point in reviving these old threads.

Even if just one or two of those contributors receives the email notification that someone has responded to a thread, and comes back to join the new and quite frankly improved discussions around here of late, then that's one or two more souls than we have here right now. The more the merrier. And for my money, these forums have become one of the better places to discuss Hong Kong movies right now. Unlike at other forums where they seem to have forgotten that the cinematic past of Hong Kong is as vital to understanding the form as the present output, or where Hong Kong movies seem to be shunted aside in favour of jumping on the mainland and Taiwanese cinema bandwagons, I can always count on a much broader range of tastes and coverage - old and new - when I drop in here.

Maybe some of those lost souls will realize the place is still worth coming back to, and probably better than it's ever been before...Heck, we've probably notified a few just by making these posts alone!

The 2nd one could be Lai Shi - China's Last Eunuch?
