His bio on the MEMENTO DVD states that he graduated the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in 1989, then joined the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, where, at the age of 30 he became chief actor (the bio doesn't give a specific year, but obviously it doesn't matter as it was in the 90's most likely)
