Biography
 
  Born in 1962 in Hong Kong. At the age of 19, he joined the TVB Actor Training Class, which marked the beginning of his acting career. He made his first appearance in the TV series "Young Heroes" with a small role, and went on to star in a long list of TV dramas, including "Royal Tramp" with Alan Tam, "Young Policemen", "Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre", "New Handsome Siblings", and "Ode to Gallantry".

In the mid-80s, Leung made his foray into movies, and later ventured into singing as well. In 1991, he embarked on a professional relationship with director Wong Kar Wai, and together, they created six iconic movies that garnered Leung a cult following and high acclaim in the film industry. His collaboration with Wong Kar Wai, including films like "Days of Being Wild", "Chungking Express", "Ashes of Time", "In the Mood for Love", "2046", and "The Grandmaster", solidified his status as a versatile and talented actor.

Leung's outstanding performances have been recognized with numerous awards throughout his career. He has won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor five times and as a Supporting Actor twice, in addition to winning the Golden Horse Award twice. His exceptional talent and dedication to his craft were also acknowledged on the international stage when he won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000 for his role in "In the Mood for Love".

In his personal life, Leung is known to be married to actress Carina Lau, whom he has been in a relationship with since the 1990s. The couple tied the knot in 2008 in a private ceremony, and their marriage has been regarded as one of the enduring relationships in the Hong Kong entertainment industry.

Despite his success, Leung remains known for his humility and professionalism. He has a reputation for being meticulous in his approach to his roles, often immersing himself deeply into the characters he portrays.
