Born in Hong Kong with origins in Guangdong, Liang Chia-Jen started training in martial arts as a kid. In 1974 he joined Shaw Brothers and his first movie was director Chang Cheh's "Five Shaolin Masters". Liang followed director Chang who subsequently opened Chang's Films Co. in Taiwan. Liang played mostly the role of a villain. After the movie company closed down, Liang started free-lancing between Taiwan and Hong Kong, and gradually built his fame as an action star. He played key roles in movies as "Warriors Two", "Odd Couple", "Legend of a Fighter" and "Postman Strikes Back". In recent years Liang focused on TV dramas produced in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Mainland. Liang established the Bryan Films Co. Ltd. in 1992. Among the movies he produced, Liang was script-writer, producer and director of "Cold War" and "Bogus Cop".
